I have always been a maker and began taking the creation of jewels seriously when I needed settings for stones I had collected, cut and polished.
I began with the minimum tools, a hammer, a saw, some metal, files, pliers and a torch.
After many years of gathering materials, tools, and developing skills and technics, I enjoy translating inspiration into physical forms more than ever.
Makers love their tools but creativity and innovation are the key elements required to make something special.
Inspiration comes to me from an appreciation of all forms of art.
Music has form and patterns such as repetition, echoed sounds, rhythm, call and response, to name a few. It can be hard, soft, dramatic, calming, thought provoking, fun. It can evoke the full gamut of emotions and is infinite in its possible variations. These attributes can be translated into a physical form.
Dance can soar, be frenetic, sensual or freeform. All of which are translatable concepts.

Using Thermo-Loc™ To Support A Ring Structure While Setting A Stone

I used Thermo-Loc™ to support the structure of this ring while using a hammer and punch to close the heavy white gold bezel. The makers of this product recommend several heating methods and a torch is definitely not one of the recommended methods.

Very patient,
Hi Steve! 🌺 First of all, thank you for making this very helpful video. I have successfully made a strip like this (practice for a class if I ever find one here), I want to make a halo setting in a Chevron shell shape. If you would be so kind as to share your thoughts on my question, I'd be grateful. There is so much on UA-cam, but so very little about making halo settings, none that I can find. Would I first make a strip and place all holes and cuts, then bend to shape, or cut out the shape from thick sheet, or rectangular stock, and then place all stone locations? Really appreciate your channel, I hope to see more from your talented hands.
I wonder if I could do that quicker hand fabricating it.
You are so talented and the directions are so useful and informative. Please never stop creating!
Thank you for sharing your gifts! I’m a beginner and videos like these are priceless in learning, are you self taught? Beautiful design and incredible skill!
Very cool. Appreciate you.

The simple split shank is a living legend, used for rings of all metals and value bottle glass to the finest gemstones, thank you Steve for showing us how to master this design
Any idea where/what mine that turquoise is from? I have some very old material matching that exactly and would like to know value if possible... thanks
Hello. Can you tell me where can I find the metal ruler that allows you to measure your silver wire? Thank you for your very inspiring and informative videos.
Beautiful bracelet! Love the entire process that you so skillfully executed and filmed for the demo! Excellent teacher!
Looks fantastic. Trying to figure out how far down you split the shank . Would you say about a third of the way down on either side?
Great video, awesome ring, enjoyed the video till end, great music, thank you for sharing
Great work, thank you for sharing
Do you have a suggestive tool list? This is a beautiful and calming video.
